Halton police arrest wanted man at Brant Hills home

Halton police have charged a suspect with Harassing Communications after the Tactical Rescue Unit and uniform officers arrested a man at a Hazelton Court home Saturday afternoon.

Police posted an alert on social media just before 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 notifying the public of their presence in the Brant Hills community.

The following message was shared on X (formerly Twitter):

"There is currently a police presence in the Halzleton (sic) Boulevard area of Burlington. There is NO RISK to public saftey (sic). Please avoid the area until further notice."

According to HRPS media relations officer Const. Ryan Anderson,  the man was placed under arrest a short time later, at about 2:15 p.m. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Anderson indicated that police will not be disclosing further details on the nature of the investigation at this time, and said that police are not searching for any additional suspects.

Police cleared the scene and reopened the roads in the area shortly after 2:35 p.m.
