Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officers are hoping to speak with two witnesses as they continue to investigate a serious incident that took place in Oakville last month.

Earlier this week, police sent out a news release appealing to the public for dash cam footage of 'a serious offence' that took place on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 21 in the area of Winston Park Drive and Plymouth Drive.

At that time, police said they could not disclose any further information on the nature of the investigation.

Now, HRPS say they are looking for a man and woman who stopped their vehicle at around 9 p.m. to help a female pedestrian in distress in the area of southeast Oakville near the Mississauga border.

“These witnesses then drove the female back to her residence and waited with her until contact was made with family,” said Halton Police.

“Police are hoping to identify these witnesses and would like to speak to them as part of this investigation.”

Investigators have previously asked for dash cam footage of Winston Park Drive and the surrounding area between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on October 21 and to speak with anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area at that time.

The two witnesses or anyone else with information can call the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
