North York man faces charges after pulling a gun at Oakville party

Halton police say the accused threatened another person at the November gathering

Police seized a handgun as part of an investigation into an incident at a house party in Oakville in November 2023. A North York man was arrested as a result.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid multiple gun charges related to an incident at a house party in Oakville.

Police were contacted in November (2023) after an unknown male, later identified by police as the accused, pointed a gun and made threats towards another person at a house party. There were no physical injuries as a result of this incident.

The 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau investigated to identify the suspect and on Jan. 16, 2024, attended a residence in North York to arrest the accused and execute a search warrant. As a result of the warrant, investigators located and seized a loaded 9mm handgun.

20-year-old Timothywos Tesfaye of North York has been charged with the following:

  • assault with a weapon 
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose 
  • point firearm 
  • carry concealed weapon 
  • careless storage of a firearm
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
  • possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
  • tampering with serial number of a firearm
  • possession of property obtained by crime

Tesfaye was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
