LETTER: Proposed 5% tax hike out of touch with reality

BurlingtonToday received the following letter to the editor from reader E. Kearns in response to the story Mayor eyes 4.99% tax increase in upcoming budget.

The planned property tax increase for next year is outrageous. This city leadership is out of touch with reality – do they not understand the hard times the citizens of this city are facing?

They are not in touch with reality in these times. I can see a 1 or 2% increase, but 5% – it's not happening.
