BurlingtonToday received the following letter in response to a previous letter about city council's decision to force the Food Truck Festival to move from Spencer Smith Park.

I am in agreement with Jeffery Roy. It looks like greed by the small business association.

They are allowed to block off traffic lanes in one of the busiest roads in Burlington. This was done a few years ago due to the loss of business caused by COVID.

How many more years must this practice continue until they recoup all their profits?

The food truck is one weekend, which is a feather in the cap of the City. It's three days out of 150+ days of social activities downtown. If the food truck goes, so do the lane closures. It's only fair.

I also won't be going downtown to socialize if the food truck festival is cancelled. There are lots of other places to go for meals etc. in Burlington and Oakville.
