Bill Welychka, the longest running MuchMusic VJ, is touring area bookstores in support of his new book, A Happy Has-Been.

Bill Welychka has been hearing for years that he should write a book.

So, he did just that.

Welychka, the longest-running VJ on MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic, will be stopping by Indigo and Coles stores in Niagara and Ancaster in November in support of his debut2023-09-27-walychka-book memoir: Bill Welychka: A Happy Has-Been: Exciting Times and Lessons Learned by One of Canada's Foremost Entertainment Journalists.

It's a celebration of his 35 years in the music industry with a foreword written by The Tragically Hip’s Paul Langlois. Partial proceeds from the book are being donated to the The White Ribbon Campaign and various women’s shelters across Canada, according to a news release.

A Crave documentary about MuchMusic, titled 299 Queen Street West, was release last week, and Welychka has interviewed extensively for the project.

Welychka will be at the Seaway Mall Coles store in Welland (800 Niagara St. North) for a fan meet and greet and book autograph session on Nov. 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. He'll be at the Ancaster Indigo store (73 Golf Links Rd.) on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 12 to 4 p.m.

His book is now available at popular bookstores and most online retailers.
