NEWS RELEASE
CARP HALTON CHAPTER
************************
CARP Halton Chapter will be holding two community meetings in May, one in Halton North on May 14, and one in Halton South on May 23.  Halton North meeting will be held at the Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead Drive (Derry and Farmstead) in Milton. Halton South meeting will be held at the Burlington Seniors Centre at 2285 New St.

Authors David Cravit and Michael Wolf will share a presentation. They will show the group how we can ---

“Discover the 7 Essentials of SuperAging: Getting older without getting old!”

David and Larry describe their presentation as follows:

Welcome to the dazzling new world of SuperAging, where everything you’ve been taught about aging is challenged. Getting older does not need to mean the end of accomplishment and growth. For SuperAgers, the period after age sixty-five can be one of the most productive and fulfilling times of your life.

SuperAging is already a reality for millions. But the science, business, and culture of aging have changed at such a rapid pace that they can be hard to keep up with. That’s where David Cravit and Larry Wolf can help. They’ve broken SuperAging down into seven simple components:

  • Attitude,
  • Awareness,
  • Activity,
  • Autonomy,
  • Achievement,
  • Attachment,
  • Avoidance

At our meeting they will show us how we can put these forces to work in your own lives. From taking control of your health and health care to revolutionary ways of thinking about retirement, money, housing, and even relationships, you’ll discover how to make your seventies, eighties, nineties, and beyond some of the best years of your life.

Please plan to join us at either location. We are very much looking forward to this presentation and can hardly wait to hear what David and Larry have to say. Why settle for getting old when you can thrive?

Our Halton North meeting will be held in Milton on Tuesday May 14th at the Birkdale Retirement Living Residence at 611 Farmstead Drive, (Derry and Farmstead).

Our Halton South meeting will be held in Burlington on Thursday May 23, at the Seniors Centre at 2285 New Street.

Doors will open at both locations at 6.30, the program will start at 7, and will wrap up around 8.45.

At the Milton location most visitors will be able to park in the visitor parking areas on site. Additional street parking is also available on Farmstead.

Light refreshments, coffee, tea and treats, will be available at both meetings. At Milton refreshments will be provided by the Birkdale Retirement Residence. We thank the management and staff for their generosity.

Our meetings will begin with a short welcoming address and a brief update on your CARP Halton Chapter activities. This will be followed by our featured presentation.

There will be a break at the midway point which will allow time to socialize with fellow members and to visit our sponsors.

Meetings will conclude around 8.45 p.m. with a few closing remarks and a 50/50 draw. Proceeds help defray the costs incurred in putting on our meetings.

Meetings are free. All are welcome.
